Accompaniments

Even in a city like Charleston with dizzying choices when it comes to amazing food and bars, Hall’s Chophouse on King Street stands out as not only the place to go, but also the place to be.

Just the first 10 feet in the door is an experience in itself.  Beautiful hostesses and hosts smile and welcome you, and least one member of the Hall family will either shake your hand, or if you’re really lucky, throw you a hug and a kiss on the cheek.  You’ll feel like they’ve been waiting for your arrival all day and are now thrilled that you’ve made it.

The bar can be a place where you have a drink while you wait for your coveted table, or, as is often the case nightly, a destination in its own right.  You won’t be on your barstool more than thirty seconds before someone is by your side, either remembering what you ordered last or ready to fetch your heart’s desire.  Cocktails in Charleston will usually set you back between $10-$20, but your $17 cocktail at Halls is the equivalent of three of theirs, we promise.  There is no skimping on the quality or quantity of liquor behind that bar.  There is live music nightly, and fun music played in between sets has been known to get patrons up on their feet dancing.  The atmosphere is special at Halls; the energy is humming and the crowd is well-dressed, well-connected, and well-to-do.  The bar menu is fantastic, but the staff is also happy to serve up a full-course meal to their guests anywhere they are seated.

DIRECTIONS TO

HALL'S CHOPHOUSE  434  KING STREET

The full menu is classic steakhouse with fine southern staples, sustainable seafood, vegetarian and vegan options, and fantastic desserts.  Halls boasts an extensive, award winning wine list.  You will not leave here hungry, and the bustling, knowledgeable, friendly servers will be at your beck and call the entire time you’re inside.

If you’re hungry on a Sunday morning, make sure you hit their Gospel Brunch; with a live choir singing hand-clapping hymns of praise, it will be like going to church twice. Make a reservation well in advance if you want to get a table; this place is wildly popular with locals and visitors alike.   When you go, make sure you keep your eyes peeled for musical, political, sports, and entertainment celebrities.  This is where they all end up when they visit Charleston, and for good reason.
